Coroner identifies victim in deadly crash on Highway 190 near Mandeville

37-year-old Cassandra McClain of Bogalusa was walking on Highway 190 near Bayou Castine around dusk Saturday when she was struck by two cars.

Investigators in St. Tammany Parish have identified a woman killed in a crash near Mandeville over the weekend.

St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston says 37-year-old Cassandra McClain of Bogalusa was walking on Highway 190 near Bayou Castine around dusk Saturday when she was struck by two cars.

Preston's office said McClain died from multiple blunt force trauma to the head, chest and abdomen. Toxicology tests are still pending.

"We send our condolences to Ms. McClain's family and loved ones," Preston said. "I am truly appreciative of the assistance of the news media in sharing our request for information, and to the public who responded."

Louisiana State Police are still investigating the crash.
