PEARL RIVER, La. -- Firefighters rescued a pet dog and iguana from a house fully engulfed in flames Saturday.
According to St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1, first responders were called out to a house at 105 Houmas Court around 9 p.m. on May 19. When they arrived, the two-story house was fully engulfed in flames.

Once inside, firefighters were able to save a pet dog and lizard from the house. No people were inside at the time.
There were no injuries from the fire. The house is considered a total loss.
The fire is still under investigation.
