2 recommended for interim N.O. S&WB post

The beleaguered agency has now experienced three flooding rain experiences in the last 10 months. In some cases – in Treme and on Broad Street – the same neighborhoods have been hit three times.

NEW ORLEANS – The Sewerage and Water Board has recommended two candidates to replace outgoing interim Superintendent Marcie Edwards.

Spokesman Richard Rainey said the two recommendations are Jade Brown Russell and Bruce Adams. Both names will be sent to Mayor LaToya Cantrell.

Rainey said that Brown-Russell is currently the interim special counsel, while Adams is a “longtime employee who was elevated to the interim general superintendent” position.

Rainey said the nationwide search continues for a full time person to run the Sewerage and Water Board. The beleaguered agency has now experienced three flooding rain experiences in the last 10 months. In some cases – in Treme and on Broad Street – the same neighborhoods have been hit three times.
