NEW ORLEANS -- The Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo festival will remain free this year, despite previously announcing a $10 entrance fee.

A $10 entrance fee was planned for all attendees coming after 3 p.m. and a $5 fee all day on Friday, but organizers backed off that idea because they need "more time."

"We planned this year’s event with ticketed admission, free-until-3 model with an agreement in hand with City Hall," said Jared Zeller, Festival Producer. "We found out today we need more time to implement that plan. So now we are focused on putting on another great Bayou Boogaloo."

Festival goers will have the option to support Bayou Boogaloo by making a donation at the gate to Friends of Bayou St. John, if they desire.
