NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard searched the Mississippi River and the Carnival Cruise Ship Valor briefly turned around after a mistaken report of a man overboard late Saturday afternoon.

According to the Coast Guard, a man had heart-attack symptoms on board and a report to the Coast Guard led to a mistaken belief that someone was in the water.
