NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans plans to help families who rely on schools to help feed their children while schools have been closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced Friday that New Orleans Public Schools (NOLAPS) is working to establish a city-wide child nutrition program to make food available to families starting on March 23.
Until then, "The District will share resources with families on how they may access food and nutrition services during the first week of school closure."
