It's time once again for two weekends in April dedicated to music, food and dancing. But how can you make the most of the weekend? We went to The New Orleans Advocate music writer and food writer to find four things you can't miss.

Music recommendations from The New Orleans Advocate Music Writer Keith Spera:

VIDEO: 10 Things not to miss at Jazz Fest

- Americana Music on the Gentilly stage with Sturgill Simpson closing out the day

- Leslie Odom Jr. from Hamilton in the WWOZ Jazz Tent

- The Fats Domino Tribute on the Acura Stage with members of his band backing the likes of Bonnie Rhett, Jon Batiste, Erma Thomas and Deacon John

- Charlie Wilson on the Congo Square Stage

It wouldn't be Jazz Fest without food. The New Orleans Advocate Food Writer Ian McNulty recommends splitting your time between new options and the old classics.

"For me that's the dish, like the crawfish bisque from Lil Dizzy's Cafe," McNulty said. "I also really like the hot sausage poboy, duck and shrimp pasta."

Don't forget to try new things like the newest vendor Congreso Cubano.

"I had their ropa vieja before, that's gonna be a fantastic dish to get," McNulty suggested.

So get excited because Jazz Fest is almost here! Who are you most excited to see and what are your fave Jazz Fest eats?
