SLIDELL – The Slidell Police Department has made an arrest in the drowning of a 4-year-old boy that occurred last month.

Police say 4-year-old Timothy Brooks was found unresponsive by his father in a backyard swimming pool in the 100 block of West Pinewood Drive on March 5 around 6 p.m.

Brooks was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police initially said the incident was believed to be an accident.

The police department will release more details on the arrest on Wednesday at a press conference set for 11 a.m.
