BELLE CHASSE, La. — A Belle Chasse High School student was arrested Wednesday morning after he posted a violent threat on social media.

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call about the post around 6:50 a.m. According to the sheriff’s office, the threat was posted Tuesday night. The sheriff’s office notes that the threat did not specifically target individuals or locations and the student did not have weapons in his possession.

The investigation revealed the juvenile was involved in an altercation at the school on Monday, Feb. 4, which may have led to the social media post.

The juvenile student was arrested on a felony charge of terrorizing.
