Saints fans ecstatic to keep Drew Brees on the field

"I owe him a Creole feast," said Mrs. Chase. "Him and Sean Payton. They have worked so well together."

Saints fans are excited about Drew Brees returning as quarterback. Brees signed a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints for $50 million on Tuesday and New Orleanians are all for it!

I think it's fantastic," fan Mike Serio said.

“He’s the man,” said Diane Baquet.

“I think he's great. One of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game,” said Wayne Baquet, 'Lil Dizzy’s Cafe owner. “He's going to be in the Hall of Fame as soon as possible. He's just good.”

Last season, the Saints went on an eight-game winning streak. Fans showed up to the Superdome in droves and fans plan to do it all again this upcoming football season in hopes of going all the way to the Super Bowl.

“We have a much better defense. We have a much better offense. We have Rookie of the Year on offense and on defense; looks great, looks like we're going to get this done,” Wayne Baquet said.

New Orleans legend, also known as the queen of Creole cuisine, Leah Chase, couldn't contain her excitement.

“I'm so proud of them,” she said as she did her happy dance. “I ought to color my Sprite after this. Get me a Sprite and drop some Crown Royal in it."

Mrs. Chase is a huge Saints fan and she told Eyewitness News that she owes Brees dinner.

“I owe him a Creole feast,” said Mrs. Chase. "Him and Sean Payton. They have worked so well together."

She says Brees can collect on that feast anytime he wants.
