VIOLET – Polcie are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that left one person dead in St. Bernard Parish.
The incident occurred around Sunday, April 22, just before 10:30 p.m. on East Judge Perez Drive near the intersection of Caluda Lane.
According to Louisiana State Police, 53-year-old Stacy Billiot of Chalmette was either walking or standing in the left lane of the westbound side of the street when an unknown vehicle going westbound struck Billiot.
After striking Billiot, the driver fled the scene. Billiot was taken from the scene to University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
