St. Bernard deputies investigating string of car burglaries

In all of the cases, the victims' doors were unlocked, Pohlmann said.

Deputies in St. Bernard Parish are reminding residents to lock their car doors after a string of burglaries this week.

Sheriff James Pohlmann said residents of Missouri Street, Palmisano Boulevard, Corrine and Karen drives and other nearby areas should check their vehicles and report suspicious activity.

Investigators say a suspect has been identified and an arrest warrant has been issued in this case.

In all of the cases, the victims’ doors were unlocked, Pohlmann said.

“This is why it’s very important to make sure your vehicles are locked at all times,” Sheriff Pohlmann said. “Locking your vehicle and not leaving items of value in plain sight can greatly reduce your chances of being the victim of theft.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Robert Garofalo at 504-278-7630 or 504-271-2501.
