St. Michael Special School holds tricentennial holiday showcase

It was a special holiday celebration in the Irish Channel on Saturday.

Christmas was on the minds of students at Saint Michael Special School on Saturday, and other holidays, too.

Irish dancers represented the Irish Channel in the Saint Michael Christmas play, which celebrated the holidays and the city's tricentennial.

Saint Michael's educates students with special educational needs from age six-years-old through adulthood.

Students of all ages danced and performed to songs such as "Uptown Girl," the theme from TV show "Treme" and other songs celebrating the city's neighborhoods.

There were also many skits and scenes cheering on the Saints and a performance from the school's well-known bell choir.
