Three families displaced after two-alarm fire in St. Roch

The American Red Cross was called to help 8 adults and 11 children displaced by the fire. No one was hurt.

NEW ORLEANS – Firefighters say three families are displaced after a fire spread from an abandoned home in the St. Roch neighborhood Sunday night.

According to the New Orleans Fire Department, the fire started just before 8 p.m. in the 2800 block of Law Street. Firefighters discovered that the flames spread from an abandoned building to a multi-family home.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control at 9:14 p.m. The American Red Cross was called to help 8 adults and 11 children displaced by the fire. No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
