METAIRIE, La. — A line of severe storms knocked over a large tree and some power poles in the neighborhood near Phoebe Hearst School on Wabash Street in Metairie.
The tree fell on top of a minivan that belongs to the school’s nurse and crews were on the scene to pick up the damage.
Power was out at the school and to several of the homes in the neighborhood.
The strong line of storms swept through around 10:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service documented the damage, but there was no word that it was anything other than strong winds.
