FAIRHOPE, Ala. — After a drawn-out track, Tropical Storm Barry finally made landfall in Louisiana Saturday afternoon.

The tropical system, which crept slowly thorough the Gulf, never got fully organized and remained a weak storm for several days before finally reaching the Gulf Coast.

Andrew Friedman recorded this mesmerizing timelapse of the storm from his wharf as it rolled through Fairhope, Alabama.

In it, you can see the storm's bands of clouds and rain rolling by as Barry passed over the town, situated on Mobile Bay.

Barry strengthened briefly to a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall around 1 p.m. Saturday, when it quickly fell back to a tropical storm. It brought strong storm surges and heavy rain, and knocked out power across the southeastern part of the state.

The system is still expected to bring some downpours and flooding, before it pushes up into the Mississippi River Valley.
