WWL-TV Meteorologist Chris Franklin

Another hot afternoon under mostly sunny skies. There are really no signs of this pattern changing as a ridge of high pressure looks to remain parked over the SE US well into next week. This will keep us mostly dry and mostly sunny with temps climbing to near 90. The ridge may become a bit more centered over SELA by the end of the weekend, and that could allow highs to reach near 93° for Memorial Day. The ridge looks to shift a bit father east, which could allow for a few cooling showers to develop by the end of next week. This is a pretty common Bermuda High pattern we tend to see in the summer.
