NEW ORLEANS — We get a final day of fantastic weather. It's a chilly start, but this afternoon will be sunny and comfortable near 70 degrees. It will be breezy with an east wind at 10-15 mph. Clouds will start to roll in this evening and we'll see mostly cloudy skies tonight with lows in the 50s on both sides of the lake.
Most of Friday doesn't look stormy. The afternoon looks fairly dry with perhaps on or two passing showers. By Friday night rain chances will start to creep up. A few strong storms are possible Friday night, but the best shot of storms will come Saturday morning. A line of storms is expected to move through and bring a low threat for severe weather. We'll need to watch for strong winds, hail and even an isolated tornado is possible. By late Saturday afternoon things will begin to clear as a cold front sweeps through. This means Sunday will be fantastic with sunshine and comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s!
The beginning of next week starts off quiet and warm with highs in the low to mid 80s before more storms move in Wednesday evening into Thursday.
