Invest 90, a messy low pressure area over land on Wednesday in the Yucatan. No development is expected through Thursday. The National Hurricane Center has increased the chance for a tropical depression or subtropical depression to form in the Gulf to 70%

Regardless of development, it looks like it will likely bring some heavy rain to the Gulf Coast - exactly how much for our area will depend on where it ends up, which could be anywhere from right over us all the way to east Florida.

For now, I would plan on rain this weekend, both here and along Gulf Coast beaches where some of you may be vacationing. For southeast Louisiana, right now it looks like roughly 1-4 inches of rain through Tuesday, but this could change.

With messy tropical systems like this one, we typically get off-and-on showers and downpours through the day and night until the system moves away from us. So that would mean some off-and-on rain which could be heavy at times from Saturday through Monday.

There is still uncertainty with this system, because it is so messy and disorganized right now, so please keep checking our forecasts for the latest information.
