NEW ORLEANS — The remnants of Barry are now moving over Ohio, but its effects here are well behind us.

Heat will be the weather topic for the rest of this week as high pressure nudges back over us from the east.

No tropical development is expected this week.

The National Weather Service released their post-Barry summary of rainfall totals and wind gusts for our area.

Spots around Baton Rouge did record 7-9 inches of rain form Thursday through Monday.

Some of our Northshore and Mississippi locations got up to 4-6 inches; most of the New Orleans metro area only received 1-2 inches.

Wind gusts for most of southeast Louisiana were 40-50 mph on Saturday, but some gusts as high as 60+ mph were recorded close to the coast.
