NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans has allowed neutral ground parking until 8 p.m. tonight, July 30, due to severe weather and the threat of flooding.

The City released a statement through NOLA Ready.

Heavy rain has the capability to cause street flooding in low-lying areas. The city instructs to not block intersections, streetcar tracks, sidewalks, or bike paths and avoid flood waters at all costs.

It's dangerous for you, your vehicle, and can push water into nearby homes and businesses. If water rises around your car, abandon the car immediately.

The City says you should call 911 to report street flooding and life-threatening emergencies.
