NEW ORLEANS — A man was killed in a traffic accident in Kenner on Sunday night, a spokesperson for the Kenner Police Department said.

The fatal two-car accident happened near Airline Highway and Williams Boulevard around 8:30 p.m.

The second driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the spokesperson said.

One of the vehicles was driving south on Williams Boulevard; the second was driving west on Airline Highway.

Monday morning, a spokesman for the Kenner Police Department confirmed that investigators had determined the driver of the second car had disregarded a red light, causing the crash.

Officials said one of the vehicles appeared to have "T-boned" the other car.

The victim killed in the crash was identified Monday morning as 28-year-old Kevin Nguyen, a TSA employee from Avondale.
