NEW ORLEANS - The screams, the smiles and the beads are all around Bourbon Street as people take in the last few hours before the NOPD does a clean sweep.
Some of those on Bourbon have never experienced anything like this before.
"It's amazing!" a visitor from New York shouted. "It's my first time. I lost my voice already!"
"I'm from France," one man said. "And I live in Switzerland. And I swear, Mardi Gras in the New Orleans is really dope!"
While many natives had to come back home.
"I was born in New Orleans, but I stay in Tallahassee, Florida. But I come down every year to ride. I ride in NOMTOC parade on the Westbank. But, I stay all the way until Saturday. And New Orleans, Mardi Gras is wonderful," one man said.
A few folks still had on their costumes.
"We're just here having fun. Every thing that glitters is gold. It's Mardi Gras. We're good to go," one person said.
