NEW ORLEANS – Part of I-10 eastbound wasclosed in New Orleans after a man was struck and killed by a car Friday morning.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, a pedestrian was struck and killed around 5:16 a.m. near the I-10 / Irish Bayou Exit. Police say a man was walking in the center lane on I-10 "for reasons unknown" when he was struck by a delivery truck traveling eastbound.
The eastbound lanes on I-10 were closed at Michoud Boulevard and traffic was diverted to I-510. The left and center lanes reopened to traffic shortly before 8 a.m., police say.
