NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating a Mid-City shooting that left one man injured Saturday night.
It happened just after 10 p.m.near the corner of Canal Street and North Lopez streets.
An initial report from police said a 30-year-old man was on the streetcar when he heard one shot. Officials said when the man realized he was shot, he went to University Medical Center. That's when hospital staff called police.
Officials later clarified that the man was not shot on the streetcar, but rather, after getting off.
No other details have been released by authorities.
