Jefferson Parish: Hurricane Nate Preps

Volunteers around the West Bank area of Jefferson Parish will participate in "Stop The Trash" Day Saturday April 11.

Here is the latest information from Jefferson Parish in preparation for Tropical Storm Nate as of 11 p.m. Oct. 7:

Jefferson Parish Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has remained in constant communication with the National Weather Service and local leadership. EOC operations will terminate effective at midnight this evening as Hurricane Nate has moved east of the Jefferson Parish response area.

Normal emergency response efforts will remain in place. Any calls to EOC will roll to 911 personnel.

As a reminder, the Jefferson Parish Landfill and all four Parish trash-drop off sites will be closed on Sunday, October 8, 2017.

All Jefferson Parish playgrounds will re-open after post-storm assessments are performed on Sunday by Recreation personnel.

The Jefferson Parish Transit Department suspended service this evening starting at 7 p.m. Normal operations will resume on Sunday.

The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter is closed to the public and will reopen Monday (10/9/17).
