Video captures decapitation of Jester float in Pygmalion parade, rider hurt

Pygmalion's Jester's head was taken off by a massive oak limb at Magazine and Jefferson.

NEW ORLEANS — The Krewe of Pygmalion hit a snag on their parade route Saturday night.

The Krewe's Jester lost its head when the float collided with a tree at Magazine and Jefferson at the beginning of the route.

A rider also went to check the damage, but fell off the float in the process. Multiple eyewitnesses tell WWL-TV that he is okay.

The parade was delayed by 30 minutes but is currently rolling again.

It's the second parade faux pas in the first two nights of Uptown parading.

Friday night, a confetti cannon in a parade appeared to cause a power outage as video showed it firing off some confetti and then a huge spark at a power line. Immediately thereafter people in the crowd noted that power was out to buildings on one side of the street.
