Arrest made in party bus shooting death

HARVEY, La. – The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said they have made an arrest Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old woman after she got off of a party bus in Harvey early Saturday.

Davin Labranch, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Clamisha Houston.

Deputies said Houston had just gotten off of the bus June 11 when gunfire rang out in the Lowe’s parking lot.

Investigators believe two groups of teens began shooting after an argument on the bus. LaBranch was shot in the face during the altercation. He was arrested Monday after being released from the hospital.

Deputies are also looking for Furnell Celestine, 22, in connection with the shooting. According to witnesses, both men fired into the crowd without warning.

Detectives have been unable to locate Celestine or identify the other group of shooters who returned gunfire.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
