BOSSIER CITY, La. — A former sheriff’s deputy in Louisiana has pleaded guilty to hiding information about a dealer from whom a friend was buying steroids.
Jonathan Colgin pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of withholding information about a felony while he was a Bossier Parish deputy, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Shreveport said Friday.
His sworn statement says he was assigned to investigate Brian Landry for selling steroids, learned that a friend of his on the Bossier Parish School Board was buying them from Landry, and never reported anything about either man. He also never tried to get a warrant to search the place where his friend Mike Mosura had told him Landry was making steroids, according to the statement.
Landry, Mosura , and former Shreveport Police officer Brian Skinner, who got steroids from Landry for his own use and to resell, have pleaded guilty in the case.
Mosura is scheduled for sentencing May 28. Sentencing dates for the others have not been set.
