Man arrested for killing Hammond woman after calling 911 for flat tire help

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office says Christopher Wilson stabbed Carol Allen to death and was arrested after he called 911 for help with a flat bike tire.

HAMMOND, La. — A man was booked with first-degree murder of a mother to four, after Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said the suspect called 911 for help with a flat tire.

Authorities said they believe that Christopher Wilson, 26, stabbed and killed Carol Allen, 31 in Hammond.

Walked out by deputies in cuffs, and hiding underneath his white t-shirt, Wilson said, "I didn't do anything."

Tangipahoa Chief Jimmy Travis said he believes that Wilson knew the mother of four. Chief Travis says the pair was communicating on social media before Travis allegedly stabbed and killed Allen.

"There was a struggle, and she was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife," Chief Travis said on Thursday.

Travis says Carol called 911 on Saturday afternoon saying she'd been stabbed. Earlier this week, Chief Travis said,

"While 911 was on the telephone with her and operators were trying to get her name, age and location and she quit responding.... we found a vehicle parked at a vacant lot and we found an unidentified female in the car unresponsive, later to be determined to be deceased from her injuries."

Chief Travis says after the murder, Wilson left Hammond Wednesday evening, and then in Natchitoches, Wilson himself called 911.

"He was on a bicycle 12-14 miles out of Natchitoches and contacted authorities requesting roadside assistance because he had a low tire and needed air in his tire," Chief Travis said.

Deputies say something felt off, so they ran his name and saw he had a warrant for a separate domestic battery charge.

"Wilson had previously been arrested in 2016 for an armed robbery and was convicted in 2018 for attempted armed robbery a reduced charge he was given five years with the Department of Corrections, and the victim in that charge was a female," Travis said.
