Kenner PD arrest teen after stolen car chase

The vehicle 19-year-old Jaden Boyer was driving was reported as stolen out of New Orleans.

KENNER, La. — The Kenner Police Department arrested a teen driving a stolen vehicle after a high-speed chase through several neighborhoods early Wednesday morning.

Police were first called to the 600 block of Vouray Drive at 3:45 a.m. after a report of a vehicle burglarizing other vehicles in the back alley of an apartment complex. 

When they arrived at the scene, they spotted the 19-year-old Jaden Boyer of New Orleans, and that's when the chase began.

Boyer crashed into a canal in the 400 block of Ole Miss Drive. Police said a seventeen-year-old female passenger identified herself as Boyer's girlfriend, but she has not been charged at this time.

The vehicle Boyer was driving was reported as stolen out of New Orleans.

Police found a handgun, narcotics, and items that Boyer had stolen before the chase started. 

Boyer is charged with the following:

  • Possession of a stolen vehicle
  • Simple burglary (three counts), 
  • Handgun in the presence of a controlled dangerous
  • Possession of marijuana.

The investigation is ongoing.
