11-year-old boy airlifted after being attacked by family dog, sheriff says

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Friday when deputies were called to the 100 Block of W. Heather Drive in Luling.

LULING, La. — An 11-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital on Friday after he was bitten on the leg by the family's dog, according to the St. Charles Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. when deputies were called to the 100 Block of W. Heather Drive in Luling.

Deputies said the boy had bite wounds on his leg, "due to the bleeding, deputies applied a tourniquet."

The boy was airlifted to a hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

Deputies said the dog was taken by the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter.
