SLIDELL, La. — The Slidell Police Department arrested a volunteer high school baseball coach for indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Slidell police say the investigation started late Sunday evening when they were told that 24-year-old Nicholas Talamo of Slidell was allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior with an underage juvenile student.
Police say they figured out that Talamo was inappropriately having a relationship with an 18-year-old student. According to investigators, Talamo was also having inappropriate conversations and exchanging explicit photographs with another underage juvenile student.
He served as a volunteer baseball coach for Northshore High School for the last several years, according to police.
Talamo was booked into the Slidell City Jail on the following charges:
- Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
- Computer-Aided Solicitation
- Prohibited Acts Between an Educator and Student
“Just like our full-time employees, all athletic volunteers undergo a vetting process and a thorough background check,” said Frank Jabbia, Superintendent of the St. Tammany Parish Public School System. “The safety of our students is always our top priority, and this kind of behavior will not be tolerated on any level.”
The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges may be filed at a later date.
