Teen inmate held on murder charges escapes OJJ escorted trip in St. Mary Parish, deputies say

Deputies said Dauntain was last seen wearing a black and white jumpsuit.

ST. MARY PARISH, La. — A teen inmate held on murder charges escaped the Office of Juvenile Justice custody Friday, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they are searching for Kimmy Dauntain Jr.

"Dauntain Jr., a juvenile offender, escaped from the Office of Juvenile Justice custody while on an escorted trip in Franklin," SMPSO said Friday night. "Dauntain was being held on charges of simple battery, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, first-degree murder, and second-degree murder (accessory after the fact.)"

Deputies said Dauntain was last seen wearing a black and white jumpsuit.
