NEW ORLEANS - Adam Littleton, the suspect in the death of Jasilas Wright, has surrendered to authorities in Shreveport, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
State Police and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office issued arrest warrants for the boyfriend of Jasilas Wright in connection with her kidnapping and murder, according to a JPSO spokesman.
Adam Littleton, who was living in New Orleans with Wright, but who had previously lived in Dallas, was wanted for second-degree kidnapping and second-degree murder.
The 19-year-old Wright's body parts were found on I-10 in Metairie Wednesday morning.
During a joint investigation by LSP and JPSO, it was learned that Adam Littleton was identified as the boyfriend of Jasilas Wright.
Louisiana State Police detectives said their investigation had determined that Littleton kidnapped Wright during a heated argument with the intentions of taking her back to Dallas, where the two first met.
With that information, state police issued an arrest warrant for Littleton on second-degree kidnapping charges. JPSO spokesman John Fortunato said that Wright had moved to Dallas for a better job opportunity and that's where she met Littleton.
Fortunato said that after interviewing friends and relatives of both Littleton and Wright, that the two were arguing while driving on I-10 in Metairie. The friends and relatives told investigators that Littleton said that Wright had wanted him to let her out of the car and he refused to stop. At that point, Littleton told them that Wright jumped out of the moving car and he did not stop to offer assistance and instead continued driving to Dallas.
Based on this information, JPSO Detectives had an arrest warrant issued for Littleton, charging him with one count of Second Degree Murder.
Littleton will be booked in Shreveport as a fugitive from New Orleans and Jefferson Parish.
