NEW ORLEANS — A 14-year-old boy was shot dead in the Bywater neighborhood Thursday night and now the New Orleans Police Department is investigating.
It happened at about 9:47 p.m. when police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1600 block of Lesseps Street.
When responding officers arrived, they found the 14-year-old male unresponsive in the driveway of a home. EMS declared him dead at the scene.
On Monday, the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified the young victim as Octavius Wells.
