Three men accused of racially motivated Marigny attack surrender to police

According to the New Orleans Police Department, Matthew Adam Wining, Stone Michael Linden and Bobby Lee McCollister surrendered to police Friday.

NEW ORLEANS -- The three men wanted for allegedly attacking a man with a beer bottle and brass knuckles after using a racial slur have turned themselves in to police.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, Matthew Adam Wining, Stone Michael Linden and Bobby Lee McCollister surrendered to police Friday.

The three men are accused of attacking a driver on Nov. 4 in the 1400 block of Decatur Street.

According to police, the victim was driving his car and had to stop because the three men were standing in the middle of the street. The driver honked their horn in an attempt to get the men to move, but they refused.

Police say the men then approached the vehicle and shouted racial slurs at the driver, who then got out of his vehicle armed with a stick.

According to NOPD, the three men then attacked the driver, punching him with bare fists, brass knuckles and hitting him with a beer bottle.

Vining and Linden were arrested for second degree aggravated battery. McCollister was arrested for aggravated battery.
