NEW ORLEANS — Police officials are asking for the public's help to find a teenage girl reported missing apparently telling her mother she was going to the park in Uptown Sunday.

According to New Orleans Police Department officials, 15-year-old Alexia Freeman was last seen around noon on Sunday walking in the 8600 block of Willow Street.

Her mother told officers she was headed to either Harrell Park, at Leonidas Street and South Claiborne Avenue, or Palmer Park at South Carrollton and South Claiborne avenues.

Freeman wasn't found at either park, however, and she hasn't been seen or heard from since, NOPD officials said.

Police are now looking for Freeman. She's described as a white female, standing 5’5” and weighing about 130 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a pair of clear-framed glasses, a tie-dye shirt and light blue shorts.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Second District detectives at 504-658-6020, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
