NEW ORLEANS — Over 100 children received free dental care Saturday, as part of DePaul Community Health Center's initiative to keep kids healthy in the community.
Children up to 10 years old were able to take advantage of free dental screenings and fluoride treatments.
"We believe that health starts from the mouth and they need to take care of their mouth", said one organizer.
There was also face painting, balloon art, story times, and even giveaways.
"They need to make sure that they are taking care of their teeth and gums. And that's the reason why we hosted this demand, to encourage and coach our parents as well as the patients in the community."
