Folsom man killed in a single-vehicle crash in St. Tammany Parish, LSP reports

It happened Saturday at about 1:30 p.m. on LA 25 near Martin Road in St. Tammany Parish according to State Police.

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating what led to a fatal crash in St. Tammany Parish.

It happened Saturday at about 1:30 p.m. on LA 25 near Martin Road in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of 50-year-old Edil Alvarez-Martinez of Folsom.  

The initial LSP investigation says Alvarez-Martinez was driving a 2007 Ford Five Hundred headed south on LA 25 and for reasons still under investigation, the man failed to make a left-hand curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway, and impacted a tree.

Alvarez-Martinez suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS. The passengers inside the Ford were not injured. This crash remains under investigation.
