MARRERO, La. — A woman is dead following a fatal fire in her home in Marrero on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
The 8th Fire Protection District of Jefferson Parish was alerted about the blaze in the 3000 block of Sorbonne Drive around 3:15 p.m.
After crews were able to put out the fire, JPSO said a woman was found unresponsive inside the house.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
