LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. -- Police arrested a man they say threatened to "blow up" the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's office.
According to LPSO, 59-year-old Monty Savoy allegedly threatened to blow up the Sheriff's Office while at a bank on North Canal Boulevard on Sept. 28.
Savoy was allegedly trying to have a political conversation with an employee, which the employee was trying to avoid, before he made the threat.
Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for Savoy, who left the bank before police were contacted according to LPSO.
Savoy was located around 9:31 p.m. that night at his home on Due Drive. His is now being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $50,000 bond and has been banned from that bank.
