Rider falls off Mardi Gras float in Metairie

In a video captured by a WWL Louisiana photographer, a Krewe of Argus rider stood up on his own after apparently falling off a float.

METAIRIE, La. — A man apparently fell off a two-story Krewe of Argus float as the parade rolled in Metairie on Mardi Gras Day.

JPSO reported, "no serious injuries," after the fall.

"He toppled," A woman watching the parade said afterward. "He hit the side of the float, caught himself and then fell down."

WWL Louisiana Photographer Adam Ney captured footage of the rider standing up amid a crowd of law enforcement and onlookers. The parade appeared to continue rolling once the man stood up.

The man fell at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at the intersection of Causeway and Veterans Boulevard.

Jefferson Parish Councilman At-Large Scott Walker confirmed Tuesday afternoon the reports that a man had fallen from a Krewe of Argus float.
