Mick Jagger calls out at Louisiana governor during Jazz Fest, Landry fires back

According to WWL Louisiana reporter Lily Cummings, Jagger referred to Landry as "real inclusive" and said he was taking the state back to "the Stone Age."

NEW ORLEANS — Rock Hall-of-Fame frontman Mick Jagger took a verbal swipe at new Louisiana governor Jeff Landry during The Rolling Stones' headline performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Thursday.

According to WWL Louisiana reporter Lily Cummings, Jagger referred to Landry as "real inclusive" and said he was taking the state back to "the Stone Age" with his governance.

Landry quickly responded to Jagger on social media.

"You can't always get what you want," Landry posted on X (formerly Twitter), referencing the English group's 1969 hit song that former U.S. President Donald Trump used during his 2016 Presidential campaign.

"The only person who might remember the Stone Age is @MickJagger.  Love you buddy, you’re always welcome in Louisiana!  #LoveMyCountryMusic," Landry added.

During the concert, Jagger sang a historic duet of 'Time On My Side' with local favorite Irma Thomas.
