Entergy Louisiana to suspend utility disconnections ahead of freeze

Entergy New Orleans is also taking the same safety measures but only Jan. 16 until Jan. 18.

NEW ORLEANS — Entergy Louisiana plans to suspend utility disconnections ahead of next week's hard freeze, the company announced Friday. Across the state, temperatures are expected to drop below freezing, according to Nola.com.

The company said customers with unpaid or overdue bills will not see the regular shut-offs to their electricity starting Monday, Jan. 15 until Friday, Jan. 19, out of "an abundance of caution for customer safety," our partners at Nola.com reported.

Entergy Louisiana will consider disconnections on a daily basis, depending on the weather following the anticipated freeze.

Entergy New Orleans is also taking the same safety measures but only Jan. 16 until Jan. 18.
