New Orleans entertainer files suit against Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You"

He originally filed the lawsuit last year in Louisiana, but withdrew that, and today filed the suit in California.

NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans entertainer says singer Mariah Carey's hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You* is a copyright infringement of the song he co-wrote years before she released it.

Vince Vance, whose legal name is Andy Stone, is suing Carey, Sony Music Entertainment, and a co-writer of her 1994 Christmas hit.

He originally filed the lawsuit last year in Louisiana, but withdrew that, and today filed the suit in California.

Vince Vance says his attorneys are now moving forward to a financial conclusion either through settlement or trial. He says Carey copied more than 50 percent of  his 1989 song "All I Want For Christmas."
