The 32-year veteran of the NOPD was named interim New Orleans police chief in December of 2022.

NEW ORLEANS — NOPD's former Interim Superintendent Michelle Woodfork has joined the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office, the department announced Tuesday.

The 32-year veteran of the NOPD Woodfork will lead the Open Source Intelligence Taskforce as a Forensics & Intelligence Director.

Woodfork joined the department in 1991 as a patrol officer in the city's seventh district. In her 32-year career, she has worked in five of the city's police districts. She is the niece of a former NOPD Superintendent, Warren Woodfork, and her father was a former NOPD officer.
