NEW ORLEANS — Bounce queen Big Freedia is set to headline the 2024 New Orleans Pridefest in the Marigny on Saturday, June 8.

After headlining the festival in 2019, the "Queen Diva" is returning to celebrate the LGBTQ movement and its fight for equality.

“We are thrilled to welcome Big Freedia back to New Orleans Pridefest. She is an icon of the LGBTQ community and someone we know definitely brings the party,” New Orleans Pridefest President Tracy Deroche said.

Deroche chairs the Phoenix Phoundation, the nonprofit organization that produces New Orleans Pridefest.

The festival will be full of entertainers from the LGBTQ community and its allies.

“We had people show up right at the opening in 2019 to get a spot,” he said. “People rightly come out to support the Queen.”

Freedia will hit the mainstage in the afternoon, while other performances begin at 11 a.m.

Pridefest will take place at the corner of Rampart and Elysian Fields in the 2200 block of North Rampart Street and the 1000 block of Marigny Street.
