18-year-old wanted in connection with fatal Bogalusa High School shooting, police say

Four other suspects have been arrested in the investigation.

BOGALUSA, La. — The Bogalusa Police Department posted the photo of an 18-year-old wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a teen outside a high school basketball game on Jan. 11.

A 14-year-old boy was killed and a 13-year-old boy was wounded during the incident.

According to police, Jimmerious Smith is wanted on the following charges:

  • Attempted second-degree murder
  • Illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments
  • Aggravated criminal damage to property
  • Possession of a firearm in a firearm-free zone

Four other suspects have been arrested in the investigation, 21-year-old JaMichael Spikes, 18-year-old Caleb Moss along with two teens, 16 and 17.

In August, three other teens shot at an apartment complex in Bogalusa in what police believed was a retaliatory attack.  

During that investigation, police arrested Erin Zeno, 18; Daylon Jackson, 19; Sincere Gatlin, 18, and another 17-year-old following a chase that ended in St. Tammany Parish.

No word as to whether or not the two incidents are related.
