Police seek teen suspect wanted for shooting boy on Northshore parade route

The shooting happened in a McDonald's parking lot along the Krewe of Eve parade route at 9:30 p.m on Friday.

MANDEVILLE, La. — UPDATE: On Monday, the Mandeville Police Department released the name of 17-year-old suspect Tyryn R. Bailey. The 5-foot-4, 110-pound Bailey is wanted on the following charges: 

  • Second Degree Murder/Attempted 
  • Aggravated Battery  
  • Reckless Discharge of Firearm at a parade or demonstration  
  • Illegal Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile   

A shooting on a carnival parade route hurt one boy Friday night in St. Tammany Parish. 

According to NOLA.com, Mandeville Police reported that a boy was shot outside a McDonald's along the Krewe of Eve parade route at 9:30 p.m.   

Police officials in Mandeville said the injuries were not life-threatening.

"This is certainly not the way we expected to start Mardi Gras," Mandeville Police Chief Todd Schliem told the Times-Picayune.   

The McDonald's parking lot sits along Louisiana 22.
